About the Action

RethinkBlue centres around the Blue Economy and related policies affecting European societies

The main aim and objective of the RethinkBlue COST Action CA22122 is to to assess the impact and the opportunities arising from the Blue Economy paradigm. This will create new insights on how to enhance the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Blue Economy.

Meet our Working Groups

Knowledge exchange and capacity building among researchers and stakeholders of the Blue Economy will be facilitated through a variety of virtual and in-person activities, such as meetings, research workshops, an online seminar series, training schools, and conferences.

The scientific work will be carried out in five thematic Working Groups (WGs 1-5).

Maritime occupations

Main Focus: Workers in different sectors of the Blue Economy, such as fishers, seafarers, etc.

Main Focus: Value chains, trade and consumption of blue products (e.g., seafood) and services (e.g., transport, tourism).
