Prof Colette Szczepaniak attended the 16th European Sociological Association (ESA) Conference, “Tension, Trust and Transformation” (2024), supported by a grant from the RethinkBlue COST Action.

Reflecting on the event, Colette shared:

“I deeply value my participation in the ESA 2024 Conference, particularly for the opportunity to present during the Maritime Sociology session. Our presentation, titled ‘A Partner at “High-Risk” or a Risky Partner? How Seafarers’ Partners Navigate Uncertainties Related to Their Spouses’ Work,’ was a collaborative effort with Prof. Hanna Barbara Rasmussen and Prof. Barbara Fersch from the University of Southern Denmark and drew upon my empirical research. Through this collaboration, we each contributed essential expertise and skills to the topic. Additionally, the conference provided a platform for us to initiate new joint projects, which I’m excited to pursue further.”
