Scientific Mission about Atlantic bluefin tuna fisheries

Priscila Silva, a PhD Student, is currently benefiting from a Cost Action RethinkBlue Short-Term Scientific Mission at the University of La Laguna in the Canary Islands (Spain), hosted by Prof. Jose J. Pascual-Fernandez. The primary focus of this STSM is the comparison of Atlantic bluefin tuna fisheries across European countries, to enhance our understanding of global value chain governance for this species.

This STSM presents an excellent opportunity to foster collaboration between WG2 and WG4 within RethinkBlue. Also, by connecting scientists and fisheries stakeholders, this mission aima to promote the exchange of knowledge essential for advancing scientific insights and translating them into actionable knowledge – key to increasing the impact of the Action’s outcomes.

The main output of this STSM, a peer-reviewed scientific article currently in preparation, will contribute to the expected deliverables of the Action.
