Exploring How Digital Skills Shape Future Blue Economy Jobs

Prof Ermelinda Kordha (University of Tirana) was hosted by the University of Bologna as part of a RethinkBlue short-term scientific mission in September.

The project, titled “Digital Skills and Their Role in Shaping Blue Economy Occupations: A Socio-technical exploration” was designed to advance collaboration within research of RethinkBlue’s WG1. The STSM in Bologna (9-12 September 2025) combined academic meetings, stakeholder interviews, and a study visit.

These exchanges integrated the roles of diverse stakeholders in the quadruple helix (academia, civil society, public administration, and business), allowing researchers to broaden the conceptual framework beyond education and training.
